NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING MIDTERMS
The NHL Central Scouting Midterm Report is finally out. Find out which skaters on the list are either in the NCAA or headed to the NCAA in the years to come.
Notably, five current Minnesota High School skaters made the list. Edina forward and talented multi-sport athlete Mason West is listed very highly at No. 50. It’s not surprising that he’s a highly ranked skater due to his athleticism and his success with the Hornets but now he’ll have to decide which sport is his main focus after an eye-popping football season this past fall. The other skaters in the MN HS ranks who made it onto the rankings are Cooper Simpson of Shakopee (No. 67), Brent Solomon of Champlin Park (No. 161), Brooks Cullen of Moorhead at 165 and Nolen Geerdes of Rogers at 168. Simpson is committed to North Dakota, Solomon to Wisconsin, Cullen to Michigan State and Geerdes to Western Michigan. West still has yet to commit to any school for either of his sports.
Here is the list of North American skaters (that aren’t playing Major Junior) that are listed on the Central Scouting list and their college commitments… An asterisk denotes a Minnesotan player (or one that spent a large portion of time in Minnesota during their youth hockey years…)
